It is possible to mass enroll all students, all faculty, or all staff. However, such a step should not be taken lightly, as it will the clutter Moodle home page of enrolled participants. You have three options for mass enrolling users:
- Give it guest access, so it is open to all. See Guest Access to Moodle Courses for help.
- Allow self-enrollment with a key (password) and email or otherwise contact your audience with the key. When they first access the site, users will be prompted for a key, or password, before they are enrolled. Those that self-enroll, will then appear with the “student” role in the participant list. See Understanding Courses Enrollments for help.
- If guest access or self-enrollment is not sufficient, IITS can perform mass enrollments. However, it is our policy to do so only upon request of the appropriate administrative office. To enroll all faculty, have the provost’s office send a request. To enroll all students, have either the dean’s office or provost’s office send a request–whichever is more appropriate for the requested site. To enroll all staff, have the president’s office send a request. Requests should be emailed to email@example.com.
