On Thursday morning, April 3, between 7am and 8am IITS will be rolling out a new web-based login page for users accessing Haverford’s e-mail, calendaring, collaboration and other tools offered as part of Google Apps for Education.
The web-based login page you’re accustomed to seeing will be replaced with a new page that better matches the look and feel of Haverford’s websites. This new page also uses new, more robust, behind-the-scenes technology that replaces old and rapidly failing technology. Your username and password will stay the same. You’ll use your most recent Haverford Username and Password – the same one you use today to access Bionic, wireless, public computers, and other College services.
Note the familiar red background and the current Haverford College logo as part of what to expect when logging in to Google Apps starting Thursday morning:
How Do I Know This is the Real Haverford Web Login?
After the change is made, when you visit mail.haverford.edu you’ll be redirected to the new web-based login page. The address bar at the top of the login page should look like this:
Originally this transition was originally planned for later in the semester, however the technology behind the existing Haverford web-based login is now behaving inconsistently, creating problems for some users. The new system is ready and, in the interest of maintaining a robust and problem-free environment, we believe it is best to make this change now.
Transition to the new web-based login is done service-by-service. There are a handful of other web-based services including Kuali, Haverford’s financial information system, and the Go! Boards that need to be transitioned as well. Keep an eye out for the new look and feel on these sites in coming weeks.
