Log into Haverford’s Moodle Server
Anyone with a Haverford email address can log onto Moodle. Go to moodle.haverford.edu and enter your email username and email password. Use just the first part of your username; do not include the @haverford.edu part.
Bryn Mawr and Swarthmore users should follow the Moodle Login Instructions for Bryn Mawr and Swarthmore.
Your Moodle Home Page
Once in the system, you will see your courses in the main area and some menus on the side of the screen. This is your Moodle home page, with your own courses listed–as well as any upcoming activities for those courses. If you are a student, you will only see those courses that faculty have made available for you to view. If you are a teacher, you will see a link for any academic courses you teach.
You can click the customize this page button to rearrange your course list or make other changes to the page. Click Stop customizing this page once you have made any desired changes.
Notice the Navigation block on the upper left side of your screen. This will be available from almost anywhere in Moodle. By default, you see your My home view when you log in, but the navigation area gives you a quick way to jump between courses, or to see your system profile with your photo and personal settings. You can dock or collapse this menu by clicking on the icons on the upper right of the block. When this block is docked, you can still mouse over it to get to your different options. Undock or expand the block anytime. The illustration below shows different options for viewing your Navigation menu–as well as other Moodle blocks.
Under your Navigation menu you have an Administration menu. This is also available from almost any Moodle screen. However, the links available from this menu are context sensitive and may change depending upon the Moodle task you are doing. You can also dock, collapse, or expand this block.
Network Server Block
Notice the Network Server block beneath the Settings block. Clicking on these links will log you into the Bryn Mawr and let you see any Bryn Mawr courses to which you have access.
Since Moodle contains personal information, including grades, be sure to log out when you are not using the system. To log out, hover over your name to get a drop down menu, then click “logout” at the bottom.
Plenty of help is available if you are having trouble finding your courses, or looking for additional information about this system.
